The project got a kick start early in the fall. The intro shoots for the movie were already filmed in early October. And we also got to film some snowboarding action around Rovaniemi area and Ruka. Antti Autti injured his shoulder during Vuokatti pipe shoot. But fortunatelly he is back on the board already and loving it. The first longer filming trip took place in Austria where it dumped lots of fresh snow. We had a really good early season powder and even got to hit some backcountry jumps. Next stop outside of Finland will be in the Alps aswell. Davos, Switzerland, here we come.
The internet site for the project, is fully running now. New rider profiles are updated frequently. Profiles of Antti Autti, Matti Kinnunen and Antti-Juhani Piirainen can be found on the pages. Also the scrapbooks and the pictures will be added to the site often.
The blog consists of news and the photographers segments. Music section will be published soon too. There you can find information on the music used in the project and listen to it with the music player. The wide distribution will provide a good chance for the artists to get their music heard.
The stars of the project are top Finnish snowboarders and young upcoming talents. We are showing the world where we come from. What kind of starting points and conditions does Finnish snowboarders have to succeed all the way to the top. The riders every-day life, hard work put on filming the tricks, fun and travel stories will be part of the movie as well as the snowboarding itself. The four seasons of Finnish nature will guide the documentary from the colorful autumn through the winter all the way to the following summer.
The premier party will be held in the fall 2008. The Scrapbook Project DVD will be published and distributed globally with selected magazines in December 2008. This will provide distribution of over 400 000 copies worldwide.
