New Slopestyle Centre launches at the Kitzsteinhorn, Kaprun

Big news from the Kitzsteinhorn as Central Park hits Kaprun. A huge slopestyle park for snowboarders and freeskiers just outside Salzburg (Austria), the new Central park and Easy park span a combined area of 30,000 square metres and have their own dedicated park lift, adding to the already legendry free ride slopes of the Kitzsteinhorn.

This season, the aptly named Central park is born at the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun – it has been planned and designed by ‘Mellow Constructions’ from Innsbruck and is centrally located within Austria so that travel is easy from any other part of the country.

Slopestylers will be able shred three different areas; the Glacier park at 3000 meters, and the Central and Easy Parks, both located at the Sonnekar Chairlift (2450-2 600meters), the lines of which will extend the full 600 meter length of the chairlift and include 15 jumps and 9 rails.

The Glacier Park will be open in October followed by the Easy Park in November and finally the Central Park in December.

Central Park

Pro line: Kinked Box (8m), FunBox (9m), Step Down Kicker (8m), StyleRoller (15m) and A Box (9m). Medium Line with kinked Box, Curved Box, 8 meter Kicker and 3 x 8 metre StyleRollers. Easy Line with curves, bumps and banks.

Easy Park

Medium line: for advanced riders; Table Top Kicker (5m / 10 m), StyleRoller (5m / 10m), 6 meter Fun Box and a 6 meter Rainbow Box. Easy Line: with simple obstacles for the beginner; Fun Box, Mini Straight Rail and 4 Easy Rollers.

The Glacier Park

Medium Line: where advanced riders can rip on a StyleRoller with a ten-meter table, an A-Box (9 m) and a FunBox (6 m). Plus, basic obstacles, two EasyRollers and a Mini Straight Rail.

For those who would rather build their own kicker in the backcountry, the Kitzsteinhorn offers diverse freeride possibilities. The backcountry of Kaprun is situated at the Magnetköpfl and the Langwiedbahn where runs rich in couloirs, powder lines, cliffs and natural pipes can be found: a veritable paradise for freestyle orientated freeriders.

And for the final banger: sleeping options in Kaprun are made for young visitors! For more information…
