More Boards have announced they will be hosting the NASA (New Austrian Snowboard Association) Challenge on the 27th January in the Senonerpark Hochkar.
The contest will take the form of a jam session with a prize purse of 1,000 Euros, to reduce pressure on the participants – the aim of the event is simply to have a good time in the snowpark.
Despite the very bad general snow situation, Hochkar already offers snowpark obstacles in a small but good Qparks setup, which will be extended to it’s full size as soon as more snow comes, or it’s cold enough to produce artificial snow.
On Saturday the 27th January, the NASA freestyle contest in Hochkar will be the second event of Austria’s contest tour. The NASA series is focussed on young, up-and-coming local riders, to give them the opportunity to showcase their skills to the industry and media representatives.
The event on Hochkar will be held as a jam session, where riders can hit the rails and kickers in the Senonerpark as often as they want to, with the judges only counting the best run. So when a trick doesn’t work out like it was supposed to, riders can simply go back to the start and try again!
The session will take place in a relaxed atmosphere, although there are more than 1,000 Euros of prize money to be won. In addition, the best 5 men, 5 girls and 5 rookies will qualify for the Austrian Open in Tyrol Kühtai, which offers over 15,000 Euros of prize money for the winners!
