Jib-Night is the season-opening railslide-event in Verbier, Switzerland. It’s a snowboard event taking place in the heart of the town from 9-10th December.
The first official “Jib-Night" was held in 2005 and is organized by the local snowboard school “Swiss Snowboard School Verbier". Last year, about 100 riders, among them several pros, participated in front of more than a 1000 spectators.
The competition will be held in a jam-session format – highest score makes it to the finals. The slope (ca. 200m3) starts somewhere on the “Route de Medran" and ends on the “Place Centrale". The rails will have an average length of 9 metres. A maximum of 40 international and national pros will try to make it for the first place in four different categories: Snowboard men, snowboard women, ski men and ski women. Prize Money: 7000 Swiss Francs.
The partners and sponsors of Jib-Night will have stands presenting their products around the area; delta-gliders and paragliders will show their skills during the day. Restaurants will offer food and drinks to the public. DJ’s will create a nice ambience during the whole event.
