Come February come March Madness in Lenzerheide (Switzerland). Don’t ask us, this seems just the way they roll over there. Anyhow, the March Madness takes place on two separate days: 13 February and 13 March. It offers freestyle enthusiasts a great park experience, makes party animals shake it away all night and will get the crowds going all day and all of the night.
The „Rallye to Madness“ on 13 February is the starting event of this year’s March Madness. A slopestyle contest for snowboarders, five men and three women can qualify for the finals. The winners (best girl plus best three men) will get prizes from the sponsors and will take part in a QParks photoshooting in the Snowpark Lenzerheide in calendar weeks 10 and 11 (whenever that is – we never really figured out how these dates work)
Next to the Barbecue and Chill Area DJs and the speaker will heat you up to make sure every park visitor will get his money worth. Particularly motivated riders can participate in the open Goodies-for-Trix Session and win some rad prizes. Starting at 10pm, it’s party time inside the Cinema Music Club, situated next to the Hotel Kurhaus Lenzerheide. DJ Loo & Pacido (F) and the Electronic Popstar Killers (Support: DJ B. Gahan) will crank it up big time.
Themed “Let the madness continue…” the March Madness Final on 13 March will raise the level of the contest even further on this second event date. After two qualifying run the best riders compete in the big head-to-head finals. Taking part might be beneficial for you: Apart from the side events the slopestyle finals have a prize purse of 2,500 Swiss Francs. Afterwards, you can boogey it away in the Obertor Bar in Parpan, where at 10 pm the after-contest-party “Go and get mad” takes place.
