Snowpark Montafon – The Future Looks Bright!

Since last Sunday the NIKE Snowpark Montafon is history! But not the Snowpark Montafon itself! We look back to a four year long intense partnership with Nike that fused such legendary events like the Chosen Sessions, Snake & Hammers and the Rock Session. But if you think that this was it, you’re mistaken: Because the Snowpark Montafon will be back next winter with a totally new appearance, a new logo, a fresh park concept and a new spirit.

On April 12th 2015 the resort of Silvretta Montafon closed its gates for the 2014/15 season and started the well- deserved holiday. The same goes for the Nike Snowpark Montafon and the Schneestern shape crew, who, with tireless dedication, turned the park at the Grasjoch into one of the best in Austria. Constant snow falls over the winter made it possible to provide a top setup throughout the whole season, so that visiting the Nike Snowpark Montafon was always fun for everyone. Besides creative photo- and film-shootings, the season came to a close with the Swinging Spring event. And as everything comes to an end someday, the four year long partnership with Nike ran out with the last day of this season.

Chosen Sessions, Snake & Hammers and The Rock Session

It all started with the Chosen Sessions. In April 2012, one of the most spectacular park setups was built at Silvretta Montafon and the whole Nike Snowboarding team plus the world’s 12 best amateurs showed off their skills for a whole week. This was the kickoff for a successful collaboration with Nike Snowboarding. Over the years numerous events were held in the park, like the Snake & Hammers contest, where riders battled for seconds and points at a custom built snake-run. The Snake & Hammers format and course were a great success and both were adopted in many parks all over Europe. On one of the benchmark features of the park, another great event was held with the Rock Session, where the best tricks over the “Montafon Rock” got rewarded with cash. A big thank you to Nike Snowboarding for the great partnership over the last four years!

2015/16 with a new concept and an even bigger setup

The Snowpark Montafon crew has already started planning the new setup for the upcoming season of 2015/16 and a few things can already be revealed right now: The new park will be brighter, bigger and even more fun! To already give you a glimpse at the new Snowpark Montafon logo, we hired photographer Cyril Müller the day after the park closed for the season, to shoot some action on the freshly branded park features.

But for now: Have a great summer and see you next year at the all-new Snowpark Montafon. And never forget to #ridemontafon
