Move over France, Austria, Norway and Finland – your status as Europe‘s top shred destinations and talent pools is about to face its biggest challenge yet – from south Wales.
Plans are afoot to build a massive artificial slope amongst the hills of the Afan Valley, as part of a wider outdoor activities resort. The year-round facility will feature three relatively long slopes of varying difficulty, as well as permanent park features.

As much as we like dry slopes, picturesque they ain’t. However, if the plans for the Afan Valley Adventure Resort are followed through, then it’ll be doing its level best to bring an Alpine mountain feel to Wales. Slope-side chalets, a terrace bar overlooking the “piste”, and even a heated chairlift. All you need is an ear-shredding oompah band and you’ll feel like you’re in Mayrhofen.
