Budriders River Jump

Budweiser together with Burton returned to Livigno, Italy this weekend for the 2nd edition of the Budriders’ River Jump 2007! Livigno is well-known in the snowboard circuit and hosted the Burton European Open from 2002 – 2004. The Budriders’ Snowpark up on Mottolino as well as the setup down for the River Jump were incredible, heads up to Roberto Moresi and his crew for a phenomenal job and an amazing event!

Burton’s US rider Yale Cousino was the man of the day and took home both the Slopestyle title as well as the “King of the River” title!

The evening saw the original Budriders’ River Jump with a creative setup where the riders had to go over the river Spoel. The Top 12 riders of the Slopestyle finals from earlier today plus 8 invited riders including US rider Eddie Wall and Burton’s own Yale Cousino, Chris Rotax and Sami Saarenpää battled for the win at the Budrider’s River Jump and the “King of the River” title and 30.000 € prize-money.

The 20 riders put on an amazing show in front of the Livigno crowd. Four riders moved into the Big Finals – US riders Eddie Wall and Yale Cousino as well as Finland’s Sami Saarenpää and Italian hero Tato Chiala. In exciting finals it was Yale Cousino who was standing on top of the podium and took his second victory of the day. He earned himself another 10.000 € prize-money.

“What an amazing day! It’s my first time ever in Europe! It was so much fun today, Europe is fun, Italy is fun! I can’t believe I won both comps today,” he said. “I definitely wanna come back next year!” continued a stoked Yale. His winning run included a Backside 1080 over the kicker, a frontside boardslide over the river-rail and a frontside blunt 270 out on the down rail.
