Augsburg Snowboard Railbattle 2006

On November 3-4th the second Railbattle will take place at the Willy Brand Place in front of the City Gallery of Augsburg. Last year more than 17,000 people showed up to watch the snowboard action. This year the same effort will be put together to build a 12-metre high and 40-metre long ramp that will be covered with 300 cubic metres of artificial snow.

Europes top snowboarders, including last year´s winner Flo Bürgel and pro Michi Zirrngibl have already signed up for the snowboard event. For the first time there will be also a separate freeski ranking in which the best new school skiers from the German speaking region of the Alpes will fight for the victory.

To give snowboarders and skiers enough time to present their skills in front of the spectators, the Railbattle will happen over two days. The set up consists of a nine metre long Downrail, a Kinked Box and a Doublekinkedbox. Plus a new surprise obstacle is planned. Like last year the contest will be held as a one-on-one battle for both the men’s and women’s divisions.

To bring the event to a climactic close, after the prize-giving, there will be a legendary Railbattle Aftershow Party for all riders and spectators (location to be announced).
