Aspen/ Snowmass get´s ready for the new season

The Aspen Skiing Company has made a lot of improvements for the upcoming season: hotels and rooms were modernised, nine new ski- lifts and two gondolas were set up over the last years, a unique Treehouse Kids Adventure Center was built as well as the Snowmass Base Village.

With this, Aspen /Snowmass will be the only Skiing region of North America, where you can access to the lift without any personal contact to the entry the gate thanks to a mini chip in the lift card, which is read digitally. This means that you can spend more time on riding, instead of searching your ticket in your pocket. A newly built tunnel at the beginning of the Buttermilk terrain park will elevate security at the entry of the park.

As environmental issue have play a big role for the Aspen snow resort as well, the introduced lifts that are running with aerosol energy, the wax used in the service stations is ecological, water saving has been enlarged and the biggest solar collector of west Colorado supports some of the bigger restaurants. The Aspen Skiing Company is planning to be completely carbon neutral by 2020.

The season runs from 26th of November till 11th of April. Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk are open the 12th of December until the 4th of April and will host the famous ESPN Winter X-Games on 28th of January. 2010.
