Find out some of the riders that will be throwning down in the Bergisel on February 5, 2011.
After it’s trip East to Beijing for the first ever incarnation outside Europe, the Air&Style will return to its spiritual home of Innsbruck this coming February and now they have the first draft of the list of riders who’ll be putting on their stomping boots for y’all.
Unsurprisingly, in the main category there’s little change from those who lined up in China – Seb Toutant will be looking to add another A&S ring of power to his knuckles, whereas Elias Elhardt and Seppe Smits will be trying to go one step further than making the the Superfinals this time round. Last year’s Air&Style Innsbruck winner Marko Grilc is on the list, as are Andreas Wiig, Gjermund Braaten, Janne Korpi, Ståle Sandbech, Scotty Lago and local lad Werni Stock, and coming in for his first major contest of 2011 is our Finnish homeboy Eero Ettala. That’s 11 names for the main event so far, so being that it’s another knock-out round type gig you can bet a few more names will be added before kick off to make up the starting 16.
There’s also a Rookie event before the super pros step up to bat, with the likes of Tom Klocker, Kevin Backstrom, Ethan Morgan, Roope Tonteri, Jamie Nicholls, Pat Burgener, Krivec Alijosa, Alexey Sobolov and Ville Paumola prepped to show what they got and win themselves a spot at next year’s main event.
