Young Swiss ripper Mario Käppeli is in Breckenridge, warming up for the season. But don’t you think he’s just hanging out and chilling. No, the young fellow is busy working on his coverage in the states. He recently had a photo on the Future mag website and now has a little interview on there as well. Check it out : http://www.futuresnowboarding.com/2007/12/catchin-up-with-mario. Mario is busy shooting with different photographers, among others Jeff Potto from Transworld. He will be soooo ready for the season when he’s back in Europe, so keep your eyes open!
Thomas Harstad is in Breckenridge with a whole crew of Norwegian 32 riders as well. He’s hanging out with Erik Botner and Ståle Sandbech, shooting photos and riding the park in Breck. According to Thomas, Ståle is super stoked to be in the states for the first time, and has the time of his life over there. Thomas also just recently celebrated his birthday and had a crazy party in Denver. He also scored the cover and an interview in the most recent issue of the Norwegian Playboard Magazine and believe it or not, he’s hanging in Madrid, Spain. I guess you don’t quite understand what I mean. Well , check out the picture 😉
Harstad: big in Madrid.
Thomas will stay in Breck till December 19th, and fly back home to Norway for Christmas and the X-Mas Jam that him and his buddy Andreas will hold in Norway. This will be an event for kids, where they can ride with their favorite Norwegian Pros and get some coaching if they want. So Kids, keep your ears and eyes open for the X-Mas Jam. Besides that, Thomas is hoping for some fun sessions at his home resort, before he heads down to Switzerland for the O’Neill Evolution contest in Davos.
Swiss boy Nicholas Wolken is Mr. Unlucky of the Month. After some days of shooting in Hintertux, and a new contract with Sessions he ended up in hospital with bruised kidneys. He fell on rocks that were hidden under some lovely powder and got himself straight into hospital. Now he has to take a break for a couple of weeks and has time to concentrate on his studies. Get well soon Nicholas and see you back in the snow. (Photo by Creager)

German rider Simon Schweiger has a smile across his face. After his collarbone problems, Simon is enjoying the powder around Innsbruck and the Arlberg region and says he didn’t ride on a normal slope once for the last 2 weeks. Now he’s busy planning his season and organizing a filming crew to film with. So keep your eyes open for Simon this season. He’s on fire.
Matevz Pristavec from Slovenia is stoked on the amount of snow that we got this early in the season as well. He rides his home resorts in slowenia and spends a lot of time in the Dachstein area. He also went surfing in Croatia during the bad weather period in the mountains. His next trip will take him to Sofia, Bulgaria for his last big air contest of the season, and then back to the Austrian powder.
Matevz and bro. Stoked on Slovak snow.
Remi Lamazouere from France had a busy start into the season. First he prayed for snow, then he went to a snowboard school in Grenoble and did a question and answer there with some of the students to tell about his life and snowboarding. After that he did a video clip for Rip Curl TV and now he’s on his way to Breckenridge and then Calgary to shoot with Eric Bergeri. Busy Busy!
Remi’s on the road again.
Miikka Hast was travling quite a bit over the last couple of weeks. He started filming with the Scrapebook Project in Rovaniemi, Finland, and then went to a trip to Austria to get some serious snow. Miikka, Markku Koski and some other guys went to Kaprun and Leogang and got some amazing early season powder and were even able to get some kicker shots on film. After that he went to a photoshoot to Bulgaria, and now he’s back in Lapland, waiting for the holidays, cursing the darkness, riding as much as possible and trying to film for his movie part.
Markku in Leogang.
Martin Sandberg is in Sweden, enjoying the snow up there, and having an easy start into the season.
Have fun in the snow and merry x-mas!
