There's a few traditions you'd rather have disappear like that big, wet kiss your great auntie keeps giving you on your mouth - with just a hint of tongue. Then again, there's the ones who were heaven sent like tight Dirndls and beer by the litre at Oktoberfest. Or our Photo Annual for that matter. Speaking of which, it just hit the stores!

Times might have changed over the years, shifting snowboard photography from an analogue to a largely digital profession, but just as our editor in chief Tom Copsey determines in this issue's MyLine - infesting on a pile of fresh shred photos will get you just as hyped as it did way back.

You might have noticed our unusual but SMASHIN' cover and wondered "How? Where? Whaaat?". Rest assured though, in a couple of days we'll release an exclusive Making of video right here on our website, so stay tuned!

Compared to our usual Rig section, this might look a bit confusing at first but Sami Tuoriniemi, our director of photography, knows what this shit's all about and gives you an exclusive insight into all of his gear. And by all, we mean, ALL of it, plus explanations on why it's important for his job.

To get a better idea of what's important to get a banger shot, we picked Sami's brain and compiled the wise man's knowledge in a Shred Snapping 101 feature. Be it equipment such as lenses or camera body, settings of aperture, shutter speed, ISO and focus or image composition - you name it, he's explained it.

A sick shot speaks for itself. But there's always a story behind it and we've asked some of our favourite photographers to spill the deets on one of their photos. Matt Georges picked a Gigi Rüf method, Sami Tuoriniemi captured David Djite through the Rocksresort window and Jerome Tanon went urban with Louif Paradis. Well worth the read.

We know you've been impatiently reading all this blabber and we will finally reward you for that - with our annual MEGA GALLERY. Pages and pages of one insane shot after the other. Countless photographers and riders gave their all to present you the absolute finest snowboard photography of the whole season.

Don't be a fool, wrap your.. no wait, wrong saying. Just get the hell out there and pick up the new issue already! And while we're on it, outsmart all the other fools and get an Onboard subscription right here, for yourself or as a christmas present for someone awesome. Do we really need to state the obvious?

Alright, we'll make it a quick one: be among the chosen ones to get their issue first, rake in Onboard goodies, never miss an issue, save €€€s, get all the girls (okay, gals aren't guaranteed, but believe us: it sure helps with 'em).
