“I’d seen this spot in the day and at night so I pretty much knew how I would light it up – I wanted to show the patterns and the structure of that wall in the photo. I experimented and found the best way to get that surface looking sweet was to place one flash behind whole thing and raise it to around 3m high. That flash lights up everything in the foreground and most of light was reflected from snow bank on the landing. Another flash was behind the kicker to light up flying snow and the rider’s back – doing this you get the rider to pop out from the background and also illuminate his path so you can see better where he’s come from. The last flash is to the left, to light the rider and importantly (at least to me) light up his face. A basic and semi-easy three flash setup.” - Pasi R: Lauri Heiskari P: Pasi Salminen
