Ethan Morgan’s Top 5 All-Round Snowboarders Right Now
In just a few years, Ethan Morgan has gone from super talented park-rat grom to a full blown pro snowboarder, riding for the likes of Nike and Bataleon and travelling the globe to ride everything from contests to street rails. Ethan is the perfect example of a snowboarder who can ride it all: park, street, powder and beyond, and it was with this in mind that we thought we’d sit down with him to pick his brains for the 5 riders he thinks are the best all-rounders in snowboarding right now.
MARK SOLLORS
Mark has always been out there doing everything. It pretty much seems like he’s been doing everything since the beginning and that’s pretty sick to see. He’s one of those riders who sends it in the streets and the cool thing is that you don’t have many street riders that ride pow really good too.
He’s a street rider who’s really legit, doing tech stuff, but then just hits the biggest jumps in the pow. Like he SENDS the hugest jumps and that’s pretty sick to see. Normally you have guys who only send it on poppy jumps and stuff like that but he goes for huge gaps too.

HALLDOR HELGASON
I gotta say Halldor. There aren’t that many all-round riders these days out there and he’s literally one of those guys who does everything: he’s in the park, he obviously kills it in the streets and he’s also doing pow as well and sending it there, so he’s probably one of my favourites for sure.

BODE MERRILL
Seeing Bode do his Real Snow part every year and pretty much be the best one out there is rad and I gotta say his Real Snow this year was my favourite of the bunch. Then on top of that he’s like still going to Japan and doing like really creative pillow lines and different stuff that nobody else does – rodeos into pillow lines and stuff like that.
Then of course he’ll go to Alaska and send a huge big mountain line and he’s one of very few people who can do all of that to such a high level. It’s fucking insane actually.

SAGE KOTSENBURG
Then there’s Sage. He’s like getting into the contest thing more right now but I think after Olympics he was telling me that he’s pretty much done and just wants to film more (we sat down with Ethan pre Olympics if you hadn’t figured…).
I’ve been out in the streets with him a bunch of times and he fucking rips everywhere he goes. But I also went out for like 4 days with him to ride backcountry in Arlberg last season. He didn’t get any of those shots in the [Nike Never Not] movie but he did get some sick ones – like, he was seriously sending it.

PAT MOORE
I’ve been on quite a few trips with Pat when I was on Forum and it’s fucking sick to see how he really works hard no matter where he goes – I was filming in the park with him and stuff like that. It’s really cool how Mario talks about him and everything, about how he sends it in the backcountry. Pat is always on top of his game and he knows what he’s doing – he’s really professional.
It was pretty much Pat who got me really motivated to try different kinds of riding. I used to only do park and stuff like that but now I’m just up for everything. I think it was after he had that year… was it Vacation where he had that double ender? Like one full part of only street and one full part of only pow? That was totally a motivational thing for me at the time, it was really sick to see. I don’t know if anyone has done that before really, like properly.
