Good snow, lots of obstacles waiting to be shredded and a couple of motivated riders. How does that sound for a start? Exactly, it sounds like a decent shooting day at Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, or at the Snowpark Fiss, to be precise. The riders were stoked especially on the jibsection, where they showed off their smoothest tricks. As the outcome of the events there, we’re happy to marvel at a sick snowboard clip in the style of Feel Free!
Highly motivated and feature-by-feature, the crew worked their way through the park, shooting each obstacle of the beginner and medium sections one after another. If you think that would be exhausting enough for one day, for the riders this was just the warming up. Right after that, they directed their attention towards the advanced obstacles of the area. “Most of the time we stayed at the step-rail, the double kinked and the down rail. The best tricks of the session definitely happened there”, 20-year-old snowboarder Fabian Fraidl comments. “Anyhow, my favourite obstacle is the step-straight-rail. It has a perfect take-off and an appropriate length.” However, that was still nowhere near the end of the story for the crew, as they immediately started with some follow runs with filmer Moris Lauinger.
Yet, their enthusiasm seems highly reasonable: The setup of the snowpark gives a good account of itself, showing a creative and varied side. Whether a 6-metre step-rail or the double length down/flat/down rail, perfectly shaped tubes or boxes in all sizes, the snowpark leaves nothing to be desired, thanks to the dedicated shape crew. And for those who still haven’t had enough, there’s still the shred park next to it, which tempts riders with a variety of jib elements such as boxes and rails. “I was surprised by the different possibilities and lines in Fiss, you can ride very creative lines with some ‘out-of-the-box-thinking’”, Fraidl excitedly states.
The park is geared to a broad target group, whether beginner or pro, the setup offers a lot of action in all levels of difficulty. “The Fun Area in Fiss-Ladis, with all the boxes and tubes, is a paradise for both freestyle beginners and more advanced riders”, Fraidl summarizes. “And even if someone should still get bored, you need less than 15 minutes to the drop-in of the Freestyle Circus Serfaus. The feel free offer is hard to beat, as there’s hardly another place to choose between seven snowpark areas!”
