Have you seen Kelly Clark riding at the BEO this year? Her Frontside Airs were higher than those of most men! Her board of choice: Burton´s Feelgood. Same as mine...
Of course Kelly´s riding is from another universe and my Feelgood 158 doesn´t have to take the same beatings as her´s, but we both probably just love this board... And isn´t this what a perfect board should be: That everyone can ride it, no matter if you are a pro or just a passionate rider?
Firstly, I have to admit that I was never a big fan of women specific boards, as I couldn´t see any reason for me being quite a tall girl - I always wanted to ride the men´s boards as I felt more like a real snowboarder than with riding a "flower power" women´s stick. Burton´s Feelgood was the first women´s board I rode and I´m convinced now: It is just way easier and smoother to handle than a guy´s board, rides through powder like a hot knife cuts through butter, hits the pipe with the smoothness of a butterfly but the power of a bull and is a perfect park weapon thanks to its new wider stance width and the Super Fly II core (even though I´m not really into parks, I tried some obstacles in the Vans Penken Park in Mayrhofen - of course the Feelgood didn´t have me going over the big kickers, but I had some fun on the "editor´s line" and the jumps felt so much easier than with my old men's board).
The Feelgood is the perfect board for ladies who like being a women but still love to ride hard - no matter in which terrain. And the graphics are the best I have ever seen on a women´s board: There are some wise sentences written on the nose, perfect if you get bored in the gondola on the way up...
