Time and again we receive requests to show how to do simple rail tricks. Your wishes are our command. And who would be more fitting for a rail Trickology than the ThirtyTwo team? We met up with them on their tour through Europe, got them to do a variety of rail presses and had them walk you through the stages of their tricks.
Part one: 5-0 with Joe Sexton
Approach the rail or feature with moderate speed: you want to be going fast enough to get your tail above the rail but not too fast that you miss your snap.
As you reach the end of the lip start your ollie by getting your nose above the rail, then lift your back leg up as you would for a 50-50. The trick is to sort of lean back and snap your tail down while straightening and lifting up your front leg to keep the nose from tapping down on the rail. Keep your weight on your back foot and press it out.
Continue to hold and press until you reach the end of the rail. I like to give it a little ollie off my back foot to help clear the rail and prepare for the landing. Give it an ollie and try to land flat based, suck up the landing and ride away clean!
