With many seasoned pros now preferring to brush up on their cutbacks and getting barrelled in the summer, and with a couple of the better-known camps having problems both last and this year, you might be thinking that summer snowboarding is on the wane. But it’s not all doom and gloom. Far from it.

There’re still more camps going down in Europe this summer than you can shake a well-waxed stick at, replete with all manner of hits, jibstacles and pipes for you to get your shred on whilst you get tanned. There’s plenty of eager young shredders who whack on the sunscreen, pack a bottle of water, and rub on some good wax and take advantage of the summer’s more forgiving landings to progress their shredding, and more than a few big-name pros consider a bit of park shredding to be high on the list of summer priorities.
