So Pat, your Slayer board got people excited, how did it come about
with your board graphic?
Well I brought up the idea of doing a knock off of the Slayer crest, it sat with Forum for a bit and then the next time I went in they were like: “Would you want to do one with Slayer? Like a co-brand type of graphic?” And I was like: “Hell Yeah!” Haha, and then I guess Forum just got in touch with the band’s management and made it happen. I couldn’t be more stoked on working with them. How many times have you been to Europe before?
I’ve been a few times, quite a bit actually; it’s always fun going out and seeing new places.Have you ever ridden here or was it just for premieres?
I’ve only ridden a couple times in Austria and Italy, but mostly just for premieres and stuff. Oh and I did a few trips where we went riding, like the Red Bull rail trip and the Red Bull indoor resort trip, both of those we travelled all around Europe for. What’s the best country you visited so far over here?
I’d have to say that I really loved Spain when I was there. Barcelona is such an amazing city and that one really captured my attention; I’m definitely stoked on going back there.
What was your stand out day this season filming for the new movie?
We had a day up in Whistler with Jake Blauvelt, Joni Malmi and me where we all got shots. We had an awesome day and it was just really kicked back and a relaxed kind of day. I’d say that was the best, super fun day. It’s usually a pretty amazing day any time you are in Whistler with sun and pow.
And what was the worst?
I had a day in Quebec where I was super stressed out. It was rainy, I had tons of shit in my head and I couldn’t get this trick that I really wanted for my part. I got hurt a couple times and came really close to that trick but left empty handed.Who will have the part that people will be most surprised by?
I think people will be super surprised by Peter’s part; it is really amazing and creative. Just seeing Peter on his board again this year was a trip. I think Jake Blauvelt’s part is going to get people excited, but it’s more expected than Pete’s.
What’s up with your next pro model? So we have seen your Irish roots now and of course your Slayer Board, where’s you head going next?
