Jon Weaver – Former Forum and Nike Team Manager

I’m not sure if anyone cares to hear from an old washed up snowboarder like me, but, well, here goes…

Ethan. When we signed him way back when he was like four-foot-zero and probably wore clothes for someone seven feet tall. He was part of the Rippendales crew, but despite all the bagginess, he was an amazing rider who progressed pretty quickly and lived through every era pretty quick.

– He was the XXL gangster.
– He was the park rat.
– He had a coach and did the Olympic thing and quit that.
– He did the filming thing and was actually pretty good at that. One of those riders who could hit rails one day, backcountry next day, jumps the next.
– He tried the Olympic thing again with Halldor and quit that. Probably for the best.
– He then filmed some more and his part last year in the Method film was amazing, stoked to see that.

I’ve known him for like 12 years, I guess, and he is one of the nicest kids ever. Some of the stories you couldn’t publish here, but he’s a good dude.

Flo Corzelius

Ethan Morgan … what can I say? I’ve known the dude for almost two decades now (DAMN WE’RE GETTING OLD!?!?!?) and am happy to count him as one of my closest friends. I don’t know any person that is as hooked on snowboarding as he is – he’s always thinking about new tricks, new projects and creative ideas for his next project… He’s definetely the one dude I love riding with the most, always making me try new stuff and getting me to step out of my comfort zone.

Besides snowboarding, I really hate him. He’s always late, lazy as fuck, insanely stupid, thinking he’s the best cook in the world, the world’s sketchiest driver, a fucking Vegetarian cause he watched a documentary… the dude’s a mess, hahaha! But at the same time that’s all the stuff I love him for, so it’s all good I guess.

But for real, he’s one of the nicest and kindest people I know and I really hope he’ll stay the way he is.

Isänmäan, Anal, AJ, or Freemanson? German, American, Japanese or Austrian? Or
Germamerijapanaustrian? Nobody even knows what is going on here, not even Ethan himself.

A few years ago, confused about his identity and searching for financial stability after Nike’s strong pull out game, a state- and penniless Isänmäan asked me if I was down to do a bigger project with him. Without having talked about any concept/story or whatever, of course, I agreed. Since we generally have a very similar perspective on snowboarding (TFA times together with Flodschli (Flo Corzelius), Swagman (Simon Pircher) and some pow-fuzzis) I knew, this would be a fun – or, let’s say, different – project.

While we were trying to find a suitable name, admittedly, a lot of bullshit came out of our mouths. Disgusted by that classic “full part/season edit”, in a state of pure ingenuity, Anal somehow proposed the name “Ethan Morgan Sponsor Me Tape“. Throughout the whole project, we continuously outdid each other’s stupidity and randomness and had tons of intense times filming and editing that thayyuuunggg…

And that’s exactly why I am pumped on AJ. Whether it’s casually hangin’ at the spot or when workin’ our asses off for di people dem to watch pan di Vimeo account, it’s never gonna get boring with that mofo. Freemanson somehow always manages to forget – or fuck – something up, ask a dumb question or just randomly forces you as the filmer to get a super heavy cameo, even if that means downgrading his own shot…

To put it in a nutshell, as you journalists say, that weirdo E…. (whatever you call him) deserves some mad props for his general approach to snowboarding coz I think a healthy dose of weirdness/randomness is surely a cure for the notorious wank…

Larrogs – Bataleon Team Manager

Definitely the highest profile German rider since David Benedek, Ethan Morgan’s juggled his time between parks, street rails, BC kickers, and… paaaaaaarty!

Ethan is one of those riders that can ride anything equally well. Ethan is talented: whilst his skills are obvious, he breaks conformity with his laid back approach to riding, he always want to learn again and again some news moves with his own dope style, which shows that having a good time is paramount to his snowboarding. He is inspiring me and so many others riders.

I remember seeing this lil’ kid back in days, when he was still riding for Forum Snowboards, and I was thinking: “Damm it, this kid is ripping it with the flow and the attitude, he knows how to snowboard like anyone else… One day he will be in my team, I know it!” Just watch his bangers in the Nike movie Never Not Part 1 (2012), in the Standard Films movie 2112 (2012), in all the Sexual Snowboarding movies, his rad Sponsor Me Tape (2015), all the TFA movies with his homies, his Ethan Morgan’s Intergalactic Park Edits web series, or his last mental edit Coming Home – Top To Bottom Nordkette… then you will know what I’m talking about, period!

Hell yeah he is a crazy, lovely dude and an insane mad rider. I simply love to be in his funny company, and do some trips with him as I know that it will be all about some crazy adventures with a lot laughs and some complete mayhem.
