BLOWING UP: Boris Mouton

Boris Mouton is a young French ripper who’s been stoking us out with his blend of stylish, technical riding since he was a grom. He’s now man-sized, so we decided it was time to throw a shaka his way in the shape of this Blowing Up profile…

Where did you grow up riding?

I grew up riding in Grimentz, Switzerland.

What was the scene there like?

Just my own little paradise.

Park, Powder, Street, Contests, Filming – what describes your riding best?

Actually I am pretty much a park and contest rider, but I also love going into the backcountry.

How did you score your first sponsors?

I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was riding the park in Grimentz, which is a park sponsored by Nidecker, and so the shapers talked about me to them. They didn’t tell me anything and then one day they brought me a brand new board… I was so stoked! And now Nidecker is still helping me through my way of snowboarding.

At what point did you decide to turn snowboarding into your career?

I was 12 years old, I was totally fully in love with snowboarding, and so I said to my parents that I would love to go snowboarding every day. And, thanks god, they helped me.

Who’s your crew to go ride with?

I like to go riding with my friends. I don’t really have any crew, but I also like to go up riding with random funny guys that I meet… You know, snowboarding is a big familly ….

What snowboard movie did you watch over and over as a kid?

‘That’s It, That’s All’ for sure. That film really made a crazy impact on snowboarding….

Whose riding stokes you out these days?

I like to see Sage Kostenburg, ‘cause he’s always taking snowboarding has something simple and funny, but also like Torstein Horgmo for his mentality of searching for perfection.

If you had to choose between a banging video part or a major World Snowboard Tour win, what would you go for?

I don’t ride cause I want a banging video part or even a major World Snowboard Tour win. I don’t want to choose, I don’t care… I just wanna enjoy snowboarding and go big, ahahah!

Never ride a rail again or never play the guitar again?

Dude, that’s like asking if you prefer the milk or the cereals for you breakfast.

What’s the first thing that pops into your head after stomping a new trick?

I feel like a marsupilami.

What’s the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you while snowboarding?

Forgetting my guitar at Los Angeles airport.

French kiss or French toast?

French Kiss for suuuuree!

What would you like to accomplish in your snowboarding career?

I wanna get a fucking thousands millions dollars…

What’s the most important thing snowboarding has taught you?

Humility.

Do you Google yourself sometimes?

No, but my father does, ahaha!

What’s overrated in snowboarding these days?

Too much spins, not enough style.

Tell us a secret…

I am a magician.
