Gregory Crewdson 1985-2005

Bugger. I shouldn’t have used the word ‘trippy’ to describe that ‘Immune’ book by Floria Sigismondi. It would fit in so much better with this one. So, I guess we need something else. Perhaps ‘high quality’. Yep, that’s it. I’m not sure about this, but Gregory Crewdson’s motto could very likely be ‘Why make it easy, when you can do it the hard way?’ A lot of things in this award-winning photographer’s pictures have been taken from the movies – not only the inspiration and sometimes the actors, but also the cumbersome manner in which way they are set up. Large format cameras, smoke machines, sky-lifts and sets halfway submerged into water are almost always items used for a Crewdson photo. And he takes his time. In this 245-page hardback you’ll find six major series produced since the mid-eighties. High quality the whole way through.
