The fourth-placed female in our European Rider of the Year Awards was unheard of last year. Then she dropped a couple of insane all-street video parts and jaws started dropping…
“This is a no-brainer. She won best female videopart of the year already in Canada, and I honestly don’t know any other European girls that seriously film good stuff!”

For whatever reason, it can’t be said that many female Euros successfully ‘break’ America these days, though this past year Ivika Jurgenson has been making waves on both sides of the Atlantic. Filming with both Postland Theory’s Tim Schiphorst and Jess Kimura for the all-female project, The Uninvited, her video part this year received both core and official accolades, bumping her into this list and winning Best Female Performance at the iF3 Awards in Montreal.
Aside from the filming and props, she’s gone from being a relative unknown to picking up sponsors left, right and centre, joining the ranks of Dinosaurs Will Die, Union and Vans all in one year. With a switch game almost indistinguishable from her normal stance and a quiver full of rail tricks that are now street-proven, it’s no surprise seeing Ivaka listed amongst the top dogs this year, and refreshing to see a Euro start to rival the likes of Kimura and Desiree Melancon in the urban environment.
“She put out a really sick part for The Uninvited this year, which pretty much only happened because of her own commitment and hard work”
