Well I was out for last month, haven't really been riding for a whole month, just needed a break... Always need to refuel for the summer riding in the camps and especially for training in New Zealand. Unfortunately, I am sick now and could've gone to les 2 alpes in france to ride for a week, but of course those few days in that whole month of where I would've had time to be sick I have to be sick right now. Well to fill the gap about where I have been, here is a little update what happend after the nike 6.0 sweden trip:
Niki Korpela and I got invited through our awesome team manager Jon Weaver to the Super Park session 13 in Mammoth, USA. We stayed in a giant crib with the whole forum US team. We had so much fun, the park was awesome, some small stuff to jibb, a boardercross, some small office guys jumps, and some huuuuge jumps and corners. Just by far the biggest jumps I've seen. Niki and I mostly wee hanging out and cruising with the team, getting to know the crew like Pat Moore, Jacob Welch, Stevie Bell, Eddie Wall, Cam Pierce, Niko Cioffi... and so on... After those five days of shredding, the unbound crew from mammoth started building some sick obstacles for the forum team to shoot on. At first we started out shooting on a big kicker. Niki and i really showed what's up in europe, I stomped a fs 10, and a bs7 late frontflip, kinda like a bs 10. Niki stomped a fs 12, and a fs double cork 10. Next day we had a rail to 15m gap followed next day with a tree gap, tree to tree quarter pipe gap. Then some wierd obstacle that can't really be explained, but was unrideable, only cam got something on it. Then we had a few days break, where I had to take an AP chemistry exam test in bishop. Didn't go well, got the results yesterday, I failed... gotta do it again next year... :( Then I got back from bishop. We had 2 more obstacles to do, 1 was a spine with a big liftpole on top, fun to jibb, they had some big plans with the camera set up... looked pretty cool on film. The next morning I got up at 7 and went on a pipe shoot on the newly built pipe with pat moore, we both go some good shots... Then the next obstacle that was built up was like for us the grande finale. It was a 10 meter high wallride, held by a snowcat on a giant snowbox to make it higher. It was pretty scary to hit, I almost killed myself on it. So yeah then niki and I left straight from that spot to reno and flew back home next day. Ever since then the both of us haven't been snowboarding, getting motivated. And I can't wait to ride now. All in all it was a super sick trip, it took about a whole month. Was a great experience to ride with the big boys, to see what's up, and to film with them. We hope that we can go next year to film with them again... Was for sure lot's of fun. I'll be at home the next 2 weeks, then comes new zealand with the new zealand open, and the WC in cardrona. Really pumped on that... Now I'm out to study a bit more.
