We’ve been awfully neglecting this season’s Jackson’s Hole episodes, which we’re putting our heads down in shame for, so we decided to summarize them for you in a big, fat, nasty MEGAPOST!
If you’re seeking to escape the industry’s serious faces for a while, this is your best shot at letting loose and getting a backstage glimpse into the shiny world of professional snowboarding. Abandon everything (and everyone) you’re doing right now, sit back, relax and let Henry Jackson, David Doom and Sophie Nicholls tickle you into happiness.
It’s time for the US Open in Vail, Colorado, where Henry throws out some interesting interview questions for Mark McMorris, who is never one to hold back on inspiring answers. Unfortunately Sophie Nicholls couldn’t make it so Jamie, her brother, filled in for her. He makes up for not having tits and blonde hair by carving the shit out of Vail and showing us how to do maths. Spencer O’Brien sits down with the crew for the Mini interview and Doom asks her the best question ever. Ever!
Favourite quote from the episode: “Ribs good.” – Mark McMorris
Haters are everywhere and they didn’t like what they saw in the first two episodes so Henry and Doom gave the people what they want – snowboarding. And some mankinis. Sophie Nicholls made her way to the Burton European Open in Laax and had an interesting conversation with Tom Monterosso, who gave us a history lesson but obviously got everything completely wrong. Luckily Sophie enlightened us with her knowledge on the French Revolution and nuclear bombs.
Introducing a completely new contest format, the Jackson’s Hole crew heads to Absolut Park for the first ever Holympics. Then, Olympian wanker and Finnish honey badger Roope Tonteri cuddled it up with Henry in the back of the Mini for an interview.
Favourite quote from the episode: “This can’t be real. Is this a real thing?” – T-Bird
Together with Sophie, we’re raising our IQ-bar with some interesting geography facts, that Marko Grilc is willing to share with us. Knowledge is awesome! But your brain is worth nothing if you don’t know how to shake your booty properly, so Sophie helps out Grilo and Henry with that. Ethan Morgan and Mario Käppeli are playing a round of Russian Egg Roulette and Sophie covers Freeze Festival for the show. Only here to see David Doom wearing nothing but boxers and foil? We thought so – skip to 5:12!
For the first episode of the new season Henry Jackson and David Doom headed over to Zürich for the Freestyle.ch to have a deep conversation with Ethan Morgan, Sage Kotsenburg and Halldor Helgason. Because filming a web series is hard work and neither Henry nor Doom are getting any younger, they reeled in a fresh face to take the heavy weight off their shoulders: Sophie Nicholls, also known as White Rihanna.
She makes her debut at Pleasure Jam and let us tell you, there’s a star in the making. For some extra excitement the Cooking with Gas crew attempted to set a new World Record for Indoor Downhill snowboarding. Think they made it? Go and see for yourself!
