Ride presents the third episode of their new project ‘Because of snowboarding’, which is dedicated to highlighting a different pro rider, and captures the personal stories and intimacy each rider has with snowboarding. This week it is Alex Cantin’s turn
“When I was young, my dream was to be a hockey player, but the thing I didn’t like about hockey was the rules. I realized snowboarding was what I wanted to do. Snowboarding is freedom” – Alex Cantin
Alex is a mild mannered patient fellow and no matter how gnarly he gets on his snowboard he remains calm and consistent. This would explain why his video parts consist of shot after shot of making the near impossible, possible. There is a consistent flow of talent hemorrhaging from Quebec, Canada, but Alex’s talents and style set him apart from the rest. Alex is another participant in the Deja Vu film crew that represent what riding with your bro’s is all about either in the city or waist deep in the backcountry. Alex brings a lot of fun to all the team trips and has quietly gained the respect he deserves by simply letting his riding speak for itself.
