Throw It Down TEASER - Triple Six Crew + Interview

Do you remember the Icelandic brothers Einar Stefansson and Vidar Stefansson? Of course you don’t, but in an vain attempt at being a tabloid we labelled them the new Helgasons a while ago. Their movies are full of shaky cams, insane riding, and weird stuff. Check out this teaser for their upcoming movie Throw It Down.

And to learn a little more about these quirky brothers from Akureyri, we caught up with Vidar for a quick Q&A.

This is Vidar, the young man behind this crazy teaser.

Can you tell us a little about yourself, your brother, and the other guys of Triple Six? Where did you guys meet?

My name is Vidar Stefansson and I’m from a small town in Iceland called Akureyri, same town that Gulli Gudmundsson and the Helgasons are from. Me and my brother have been snowboarding since we were pretty young. My brother Einar Stefansson is 19 years old and im 16 and making my second snowboard movie, and I hope I will make more! After my first movie : Movie, The Movie (Not So Full Movie) I wanted to do something more so I built up the Triple Six Crew: www.facebook.com/triipplesix. In the crew are me, Einar Stefansson, and then the Swedish brothers Abbe and Theo Hjellström and our friends Erik Fenger-Krog And Måns Hedberg.

We all live here in Malung/Sweden and study at the Malung-Sälen snowboard school.I’m on my first year and Einar is on his last year now,We all met here in Malung and we are all good friends and i hope we will keep Triple Six alive for some years!

Last year we described you as the “new Helgasons”. Have they been a big influence on your riding?

Haha, I can not say that it changed our riding, but it’s always fun to hear from someone that you are similar to the guys you looked up to when we were younger.

What is Throw it Down about? Where did you go filming, how did you finance it?

We have been going to some places here in Sweden and film some street spots. At the beginning of January, half of the crew went to Akureyri, my hometown in Iceland, to film street. We got some great shots and awesome bails of course! The movie will be fun and mixed with clips from our friends so it will be a fun thing to watch and a lot of stuff going down!

How did i finance it.. Sadly the movie has no sponsors, so we have not been travelling as much as I was hoping and we don’t have the best camera system in the world. But if i want to make a movie, there will be nothing that can stop me!
