There’s something really special about legit old-school analog footage. Check out this rad little edit from a weekend snowboarding on the East Coast of the US with Mike Rav, Brendan Gerard, Ted Borland and many more and you’ll see what we mean.
If it weren’t for some of the clothing choices and park setups in this edit, you could easily be fooled into thinking that this footage was shot 10 years ago. With it’s amazing grainy texture and slightly washed out tones, there’s something super special about the way Super 8 footage looks. If anything, it adds more atmosphere and feeling to the scenes that are captured, despite the obvious distortion to what was originally seen by eye.
It certainly makes a change from all the super high-end RED camera shot stuff that is impressive for very different reasons altogether.
This edit was shot by Keep The Change filmer Ian Boll and features footage from 3 consecutive days at Loon and The Mike Baker Banked Slalom at Ragged.
