Here is Norwegian young gun Brage Richenberg’s 2011/2012 season edit. He is what’s called ‘proactive’ since he sent over the link to the clip in an email. But since we didn’t really know him (and you don’t, either) we forced him to answer the following questions for us or else we wouldn’t post the edit. You may call this blackmailing, we call it journalism.
Can you tell us a little about yourself? How old are you? Where did you grow up?
Im 19 years old and I come from Norway. I grew up in the mountains at a place called Beitostølen.
Who got you into snowboarding?
I’m not sure. It was just one Christmas my family went out to by new skis for the winter, and I saw a board in the shop. It was no doubt that I had to get one. I was just cruising with my stance on +15/+15 for some years until some of my friends showed me a video online. that was the breaking point for me.
Who are your sponsors?
I have no contracts for now, but my sponsors are Sabotage SB, Salomon Snowboards, Transform Gloves, Nike, VonZipper.
Who taught you those mad spins at the end of your edit?
I’m just doing what these guys are doing everyday:
Did you attend a snowboard school?
Yeah, I went to NTG. It’s a Norwegian school who allows you to ride snowboards in the school time.
You already have a pretty solid style. Are there any riders you look up to for inspiration style-wise?
Mikkel Bang! No doubt!!
Where will we see you this coming season?
I’ll start my winter in Saas Fee and Hintertux before I go over to Colorado right before Christmas. After that I’m gonna compete in the TTR series through the winter.
