Burton and LAAX are ready for the 15th Burton European Open presented by MINI. From Monday, January 13th 2014, until Sunday, January 19th 2014, LAAX becomes the center of the snowboarding world. More than 300 riders are going to compete in Halfpipe and Slopestyle. The BEO is the last 6star TTR Event in Europe before the upcoming Olympic Games in Sochi.

How many times has LAAX hosted the event so far? How many nationalities are taking part this year? How many titles have been given out over the years? How many minutes have been broadcasted on www.burton.com/BEO live? And how much prize money is going to get this year’s winner?

Here are some interesting facts about the BEO:

6 – The BEO is a 6star event, the most you can get on the World Snowboard Tour.

10 – This is the 10th time the BEO is happening in LAAX where it found a new home in 2005.

11 – The number of TV channels which broadcats the BEO live. For example: SRF2 (SUI), EinsPlus (GER), Sport Tre (ITA), POLSAT (POL), FOX SPORTS (USA), SPORT TV (POR), ViaSport (SWE).

13 – Burton’s lucky number.

15 – Stands for the 15th edition of the BEO.

22 – That many nationalities will be represented this year at the BEO.

78 – Number of competing riders who are from the host country – Switzerland.

106 – More than a hundred titles were givoen out since the BEO Premiere in 1999.
