Set-Up Air & Style Beijing 2013

Almost ready!
Almost ready!

Biggest artificial snowboard ramp ever with record height and width will provide more air-time for highly technical tricks in great style!

The biggest artificial snowboarding ramp ever built is almost ready to give the world´s best Big Air riders a perfect playground to perform their highly technical tricks with a great portion of style at the 6Star World Snowboard Tour Air & Style Beijing 2013. As progression in snowboarding keeps evolving at an unbelievable pace the infrastructure for the sport needs to adapt. The massive steel and wood construction in Beijing´s Bird´s Nest National Stadium, now in the process of being finalized, might well be not only the biggest ramp ever built, but also the best. Very much driven by riders feedback the ramp architects made some major changes: A broader inrun (12 m wide, 75 m long, 42° steep) will give the riders more speed, more control and more options after dropping in from the start gates at the record height of 42 m. This will lead to significantly more air-time for their jumps. The landing hill is wider as well (30 m), allowing safe and controlled landings after 30 m long jumps with more than 3 seconds pure air-time.

Andrew Hourmont, Air & Style founder:We want the ramp to give the riders a safe environment and perfect conditions. This gives them the confidence they need, to show their best tricks and push the level of snowboarding with bigger tricks again.
