Uotila sending it over the gap

Andorra, 29th of March 2008: The slope style contest that took place today in the snow park El Tarter de Grandvalira, was dominated by sunshine and spectacular tricks by riders from Finland, Sweden, Andorra, Austria, Germany, Spain, France and New Zealand. Ville Uotila took first place, followed by Rudi Kröll and Victor De Le Rue. Iker Fernandez: “This year, the level was so much higher” 50 riders participated in the expression session, with the 16 best making it to the next stage. All of them took the Big Air, the Step-Up and the Butter Box line. Iker Fernandez said: “It was the best Total Fight so far, the riding level and the park were so good that it could have been a 5 stars event”. Spectacular tricks and 17.000€ prize money Ville Uotila won the finals today with a super smooth run consisting of a Switch Bs9 on the Big Air, a Fs7 on the Step-Up, and finishing with a Fs180 to Switch Bs5 on the Butter Box. Rudi Kröll, who seduced the crowd and judges with his two runs in the semi-finals (Cab9, Bs7, Fs180 to Sw5 in the first, Fs10, Back Flip and Fs180 to Sw540 in the second), wasn’t as lucky in the finals against Ville, after not landing his Fs10 on the Big Air. Victor De Le Rue took third place. The young Frenchie took his place on the podium with a Switch Bs9, Fs7 and ollie to Bs5.
Freestyle festival with spectacular FMX and BMX shows.

After the amazing afternoon of spectacular snowboarding at the Snowpark El Tarter, shaped by the Coliflor Freestyle crew, the show continued down at the circuit built specially in the El Tarter carpark. Here an excited crowd supported the fantastic BMX and FMX shows by the best riders on wheels. Freestyle in all its faces!

Image, Film and music Festival

The Image and Film Festivals and several Dj sessions were part of a very complete evening activities program, making Grandvalira Total Fight the biggest freestyle festival in southern Europe.

Every afternoon the Image and Film Festival took place at Bar Nemo, where the crowd got to know the work and creativity of the photographers and film such as Carlos Blanchard, Jaime Lahoz and Antxon Epelde. The Film Festival also brought the latest works by crews like the argentinians BQP and locals SOS Films.

Music and freestyle were without doubt the dominant themes of the Grandvalira Total Fight evenings. Every show had its own soundtrack brought by spanish DJ Pako León, who rocked the turntables of the crazy RedBull Hummer, located in the middle of Snowpark El Tarter.

On Saturday night Dj Jekey was the star of the show in the massive Coca-Cola tent. This French born, Spanish raised DJ, world number 2 in turntable-rocking, brought his crazy mixes of all styles. The crowd of more than 2000 people danced all night to the freestyle tunes and didn’t stop shaking the tent, built specially for the Grandvalira Total Fight.
