Snowboarding Finnish Open are coming up

Snowboarding Finnish Open has taken over Tahko’s spring slopes and sunny terraces since 2009.

SFO brings together the top riders and toughest newcomers in Finland to enjoy the most inspiring and entertaining snowboarding event of the winter to Tahko. This year’s event is made up of slope parties, top performers, snowboarding contests and a chill-out atmosphere, as it has been like that since the day one.

As in the two previous years, the event consists of two parts. During the week, the invited filming crews compete with each other to win the Snowboarding Filming Operation -movie contest. The playground of the competition will be all the surroundings of Tahko. The second part of the event includes a slope event on Saturday as an open competition, SFO Jam, in the amazingly built front slope park.

Young upcoming stars are given an opportunity to have fun snowboarding, spending time with their idols and boosting their career.

Since SFO wants to encourage upcoming riders and to promote professional snowboarding, new crews are welcomed to try their skills in Tahko.

New crews was able to take part in the Rising Star competition by making an edit for the audience to vote for at sfotahko.fi/risingstar. The competition is now closed. The purpose of this is to promote networking of the professional snowboarders and newcomers. By a combination of the judges’ votes and audience votes, two teams made it to the Snowboarding Filming Operation (see below).

In addition, riders can take part in the competition through Snowboard Team Finland. A team will be made up of the most promising riders who have taken part in the Snowboard Team Finland’s Show Up tour. So SFO provides a great opportunity for upcoming riders to compete alongside professionals.
