OK, so we’re not going to rabbit on too much about this one – let’s face it, El Blanco makes enough headlines.

But as a little precursor of what to expect at Sochi it’s worth taking note of. We’ve already mentioned that Shaun was going to need to step up his game if he wanted to take the Gold in slopestyle next month. So has he? Well we’re not sold 100%…

Fair enough – in the air he’s spinning clean double corks back-to-back, but it was always going to take a step up in the rails to put him into contention. They are – we’ve gotta say – looking better (especially compared to last year), but to be honest the fluidity still isn’t quite there. As the comment in the original video said – it’s still a bit of a ‘mathmatical’ win isn’t it?

I think we’d all be a lot happier if it wasn’t for Shaun’s foot fetish too – boot grabs still aren’t going to fly with a lot of the traditionalists…
