Bluebird skies, a perfect park setup, and plenty of opportunities to wet your whistle – once again the Onboard crew went through the trouble to report from the Moreboards Stubai Premiere at Stubai Glacier in Austria.
From October 18th to 20th 2013 the international snowboard community gathered in the ‘Stubaital’ for the third and last big Austrian glacier opening in 2013. Snow conditions were fantastic, as was the park, which boasts of a pro kicker line up to Sochi Olympics standards, a medium kicker line with five jumps in a row, and plenty jib features in different sizes. The test area aka “Brandsaloon” was packed all days as plenty of riders wanted to give the latest shred gear a go.
And activity-wise things kicked off on Friday with the Skullcandy Trick Sessions and were followed by Salomon rider Jed Anderson cruising the park with fans and friends. Throughout the day, we spotted tons of national and international pros like Eric Beauchemin, Ozzy Henning, Len Roald Joergensen, Denis Leontyev, Elias Elhardt, Jamie Nicholls, and Ethan Morgan. And when night fell people either stormed the party venue ‘Freizeitzentrum’ in Neustift to watch German gangsta rap act Haftbefehl or brought out their dance moves at the slightly disturbing ‘Battle of Trash’ party in the legendary Dorf Pub.
