Welcome to our live coverage of the Sochi 2014 women’s halfpipe semi-finals! We’ll be reporting on all the action as it happens with run-by-run analyses, failed attempts at being funny and other cool shit in our live blog below. Tune in, or well, don’t…
We’ll be kicking things off today, right here at 16.00 CET.
Here’s how competitors can qualify for halfpipe finals:
- This morning all of the female snowboarders were randomly divided into two heats.
- In each heat, the top 3 riders progressed straight to finals later today. They were: Kelly Clark, Queralt Castellet and Sophie Rodriguez from heat one and Torah Bright, Hannah Teter and Xuetong Kai in heat 2.
- The next 6 highest scoring riders from each heat will now battle it out in the semi finals, with the top 6 from that joining the automatic qualifiers in a 12 woman final.

Tom Copsey: Oh hi there. Welcome to our live coverage of the Women’s halfpipe semi Finals in Sochi, where hopefully it’s cooled down a bit now as it was +9 degrees pipeside in the qualifiers and mega slushy
