In March of this year (21st-22nd), burn will host a contest that even the biggest, baddest Norse gods would approve.

Trysil, Norway will host the burn King of the North, where the likes of Stale Sandbech and Sven Thorgren will battle it out in a big air and rail jam for ultimate supremacy and glory. As official media partners, Onboard will be out there covering all of the action and it’s safe to say it’s gonna go off the hook:

For ages battles have ravaged across the cold hard wastelands of the North. This icy landscape has fostered some of the hardest hitters in snowboarding, and this year burn invites brave riders from around the globe to gather in the mythical lands of Trysil for one epic battle: To find out who will be crowned burn King of the North!

A TOURNAMENT FOR THE BRAVE BY THE BRAVE

Some of the top riders in the Nordic will each invite 2 riders who will draw boards against the toughest in the sport. In addition, a number of wild cards will be handed out to some of the fiercest competitors in and outside Scandinavia, who will have their shot at glory.

The competition will feature a metal blazing Rail Jam contest and a massive Big Air on March 21st-22nd 2014 in Trysil, Norway.

In an effort to let the judging reflect the diversity of the sport, the counsel of judges will be composed of different personalities from the snow scene, ranging from photographers to pro-riders and journalists.

OLYMPIC REVENGE?

Ståle Sandbech and Sven Thorgren are both confirmed and eager to show what they´ve got on their home turf. burn King of the North could be the battleground for a fierce rematch!

However, other contenders will travel north – maybe a Canadian young buck or a fearless Finnish champion could steal the icy crown and glory from the brave Norsemen?

NORDIC TRADITIONS WITH A UNIVERSAL MESSAGE

Martin Österberg, Brand Manager Nordic, explains burn King of the North: “The aim of burn King of the North is to create a Nordic competition that gives back the power to the riders. Ultimately, it’s the riders who are progressing the sport, and it seems only natural that this approach reflects the competition.”

Each night will see a massive celebration of the battles, as we celebrate our brave contestants. And although the prize money accounts for a total of €15.500 – #BKOTN is, above all, about the fun and social part of snowboarding.

In the end, a new king will rise from the icy ashes of the battleground and be crowned burn King of the North.
