Fine Park, First Powder, Fat Party!
Friday morning put a smile on the faces of the invited riders and journalists. Not only because it was the official ‘world smiling day’ but also the fact that the Hintertux Glacier presented itself on a perfect Bluebird day with a perfectly shaped park and 40 cm of fresh powder. After a relaxed day of snowboarding and good action in the park, the riders of the Hot-zone.tv team and guests enjoyed the preview video premiere of the Hot-Zone team movie ‘In love with the dude forever’.
After a traditional dinner – including a big portion of ‘Käspatzn’ which probably saved several lives, considering the amount of Zirben Schnaps that was drunk later in the evening – the assembled crowd were led down narrow tracks into the Spannagel Cave, where a video beamer, a canvas and a small sound system had been set up for the exclusive premiere.
Saturday welcomed the guests with hangover-friendly weather. Grey clouds prompted some to leave the glacier, and others to try their luck up in the park, glimpsing the kickers and pipe in-between heavy snowfall and thick fog. That evening’s party kicked off with video presentations at 11pm when the party area was crowded with almost 1,000 snowboarders willing to party. DJ BRX (Vienna) put everyone in the right mood for the first video of the evening, the Völkl team video ‘family business’, followed by ‘in love with the dude forever’ by Hot.Zone.tv.
The last video of the evening was the world premiere of ‘Gipsity’ by Fat Gipsy Productions. Producer Daniel ‘Naisi’ Kudernatsch and editor and rider Woidl Fanninger, joined riders Rudi and Chris Kröll, Armin Staud, Tadej Valentan, Flo Mausser, Friedl Kolar, Migl Putz, Michi Bacher, Klausi Hofmeister, Max Weickl, Bernd Mandlberger and Steve Gruber on the stage to introduce the premiere of the brand spanking new Austrian video production.
The audience didn’t hold back its enthusiasm for the presented movie, with 3D-animation and snowboard action at its best. The riders and involved people’s efforts were awarded with cheers and applause and the outstanding performance of the Roots Rockers Sound System from Munich.
The hot-zone.tv video premiere night established itself as a regular event for starting the winter season. The guests stayed until dawn and were luckily able to work off their hangovers on the slopes with perfect weather on the Sunday, which led to unexpected powder runs on the Glacier of Hintertux.
