Stefan Fankhauser sending a Bs 5

A couple weeks ago Gogo Gossner cordially invited some of Austria’s best shreds to once again battle it out at his legendary event in the quaint mountain village of Westendorf. Many answered his call, and a group of old and new congregated at the ‘Boarder’s Playground’ to enjoy a chill atmosphere and push each other’s riding level on the legendary 25 meter plus ‘Big Mama’. Saturday brought with it sunny weather, and Ästhetiker veterans such as Beckna, Friedl Kolar and Steve Gruber checking out the young guns such as Michi Stanschitz, Simon Pircher, Herby Thaler, Simon Fliri and Hubert Fill who all destroyed the ‘Mama’ with Bs 7′s, Bs 9′s and Sw Bs 7′s at the Rookie Challenge.

A further highlight on the side was the uber-dimensional ‘Bagjump’, which gave anyone who wanted, the opportunity to try out new tricks without having to fear for their lives. The manouvers being pulled were supposedly craaaaazy!

Sunday was unfortunately a bit of a ‘whiteout’ day forcing Gogo to limit the actual pro contest to a rail jam, due to the fact that the light conditions were just too sketch to hit the uber-booters. Nonetheless, the rail jam was a feast for the eyes of anyone having a fetish for sliding metal, with 180 to 180 outs, 270′s to front boards, front board to pretzel outs all to be seen executed to perfection. The big weekender was a turntable perfromance by Fm4′s Dj Beware, who is nothing short of a magician, rounding off things quite nicely! Go Gogo, Ästhetiker, Boarder’s Playground and Westendorf!
