The biggest prize to date for Swedish snowboarder Tor Lundstrom came in 2011 when he won the Stylewars Grandmaster competition as a 19-year-old. In the event’s last round, he successfully climbed his way to the top from fourth place, stealing top spot from Aussie Scotty James by throwing down as many tricks as he could, including a front 10 and a back 10.
Sponsored by Bataleon and Von Zipper, he has been competing in the FIS World Cup and the TTR World Snowboard Tour since the 2007/08 season with a best finish of 17th in the Big Air World Tour Ranking in 2012/13. He continued his good Big Air form into 2013 with a number of top ten results – seventh at Spring Battle in March, and then sixth at Vienna Fridge in November and eighth at Air & Style Beijing in December.
Born on 1st February 1992, Tor is based in Gothenburg. However much of the time he travels around the world competing in events and starring in snowboarding movies – as his Facebook profile says, Tor is ‘dedicated to snowboarding and good times’.
Much of 2013 was spent in locations including Zermatt and Saas-Fee, the Grenade Games at Mammoth Mountain and Reno, Nevada, filming clips for a brand new season of BYND x MDLS. The series follows the on- and off-hill exploits of Tor and fellow Scandi shredder Kevin Backstrom as they travel the the globe, indulging in plenty of sick snowboarding and partying on the way.
