Marco Feichtner has come along way from the shy, Austrian kid sponsored by the local wintersports shop. A staple of the Pirates production house, Feichtner has established himself as one of the best riders to come out of Austria in recent years.
Fitchl keeps himself to himself most of the time; on the mountain it’s a different story though. Marco busts the smoothest moves with unbelievable power and grace. This Austrian powerhouse described his life segments as: amazing times on mountains, mellow or hectic summers, beach shows and weekly trips to various countries.
He trains himself during the summer to stay in shape and is a keen surfer. Despite his rock and roll snowboarding life he still makes time for his family, organising new season’s contracts and, this year, he even bought himself a Harley Davidson. Slightly more in-keeping with the pro-snowboarder image..
With his first sponsorship at the age of 14, a trip to Scandinavia earned Fitchl some cool Pirate moments, making him a pro. From a small village emerged this great athlete at the same time that Nico Müller, Gigi and Fredi Kalbermatten were really blowing up. Feichtner has never pursued the limelight of competition glory and yet finds himself one of the most sought after and respected shredders today.
