Born two minutes before his brother, Tobi, Fips Strauss is the elder in the Strauss double act that is currently making waves in the snowboarding world right now. Part party boy and part super shredder, Fips is one to watch.
Fips is currently on the way back to full fitness having broken his foot earlier this year. This just months after returning from a previous serious injury. The couch life doesn’t suit the young German however who has shown an impressive ability to attack any terrain with invention and style.
Born in 1988 in Berchtsgarden in Germany, Strauss grew up surrounded by mountains. It was only a matter of time before young Phillip started showcasing his shredding skills. He and his brother are the only pair of twins in professional snowboarding and are also keen surfers, spending most of their summers chasing waves and avoiding cartels in Mexico.
Fips is a longterm member of the Isenseven production group and can be seen leading the way in their films, Kaleidoscope and Don’t Panic. Strauss is managing all this while studying for a degree in Economics and Management at the University of Innsbruck whilst planning for life after snowboarding and if given a million pounds would invest most of it. What a responsible young man.
