So that time of the year is upon us, the snowboard press are exciting us with their product reviews, the stores are filling their shelves with new shiny kit but it still months away from the first snow fall. You’re in need of a fix of snowboarding excitement to take away the pain of a shredless summer. Well people that fix is coming and its bigger and better than ever before, hold on its almost time for ‘Unleash the Lens Cap’.
‘Unleash The Lens Cap’ is not so much a film tour as a travelling snowboard film festival and this year we are bringing three of this years most anticipated snowboard films to a town, dry slope or indoor fridge near you.
This season we have firstly hooked up with Bonfire and Salomon to bring you David Benedeks latest celluloid offering ‘The Gap Session’. Riding hot on the heels of last years ’91 Words for Snow’. Benedek’s not one to rest on his laurels and last year organised a comp unlike no other. The world’s cream of the snowboarding crop gathered to see who would slay a monster gap shaped solely for this one off session. The Gap Session is the awesome tale of this.
Next up we bring you Chunkyknit productions third film and it’s all about the ladies, featuring the world’s top female riders it’s ‘Last Winter’. Produced not only by the Chunkyknit crew but the riders themselves. It gives us an insight into their “Last Winter”. From a Romanian Mountain hut trip, a session in Scotland and a bad weather trip to the mountains of Japan. Featuring Kjersti Buaas, Jenny Jones, Lisa Fitzmoser, Erin Valverde, Tina Birbaum, Manuela Pesko, Lsesley McKenna and a whole load of new faces.
The TSA and Lockdown have got together again to bring you the best of British, its “Showoffs”. The Lockdown crew has been busy cutting and pasting all of last season footage into a true homage to the UK scene. With a party soundtrack and A list of UK riders stomping it all over the hill, park and pipe. Starring Tyler Chorlton, Stu Edwards, Gary Greenshields, Jonno Wood, Sam Cullum, Dan Wakeham, Adam Gendle, Tim Warwood and many many more.
So “Unleash The Lens Cap” bring you three of this years hottest snowboard films, seven UK dates, enough pick and mix and popcorn to sink a battleship and a after party to get your head nodding and feet shuffling. Plus at slope venues we have hooked up a TSA/Salomon rider demo and a hardware demo to try out The Snowboard Asylums latest kit. See you there…
