Hey winter lovers and snow flake addicts. Winter is coming closer and closer, and we all hope for a better season in Europe than it was last year …. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and in the meantime I’ll feed you some news about the European 32 / etnies snow boys:
Hey out there. It’s Danny Larsen’s birthday today. November 7th- happy birthday Danny. Our rockstar number 1 will be heading to Paris this weekend for another Pirate’s “ Walk the Plank” premiere, and of course to celebrate his birthday. After that it’s study time for another week, and then he will hopefully have the chance to get some snow under his board. He already had his first session last weekend in Norway together with Ståle Sandbech, our most favorite 32 Euro Grom in Kirkerud, Norway. (Photocredits go to Thomas Tovang)!
Slovenia’s Matevz Pristavec went to Hintertux for some early season glacier riding, where conditions were really good, with hard takeoffs and slushy landings. But then the winter kicked in and it all became quite icy. After that he had a team photoshoot week with Elan and traveled from Hintertux to Slovenia and back again to Tux and for the last day to Dachstein. They were quite lucky with the weather and were able to get some good shots. Matevz will be heading to Sweden mid-November to compete at the Winter Jam Big Air contest in Stockholm.
Heppu Pentti just got back from a trip to Portugal, where he went surfing and enjoyed the waves and the sun and his new surfboard. This weekend, Heppu will attend the Slammer Gala and Board Expo – which is a guarantee for good parties. After that he plans on going riding and doing some photoshoots and test the new Icon Boards. Besides that, he is just about to release a new album with his band Rad Natas. check www.myspace.com/radnatas . And check out Heppu’s chewing gum: Sheriffi. The best chewing gum in the world!
Miikka Hast went to Hintertux in October with the Finnish mafia. They had good conditions and great time over there. After that he got to spend couple of precious nights at home and then off to Ruka, in the north of Finland for the resort opening. Weather killed it and they had to close the resort for a while after the weekend. The Board Expo was in Helsinki just last weekend so he went down south again to attend it. It was fun and lots of “hello, what’s up”s like always. Now the rain has turned into snow in Lapland and Miikka hopes to get some fresh snow in Ruka.
Nicholas Wolken from Switzerland is getting settled in his new home Innsbruck where he started studying at the university. He spends most of his freetime in Hintertux right now, and just recently went on a photoshoot with Playboard Magazin. Next stop will be the Pleasure Jam at Dachstein, and let’s cross our fingers for some good weather. Dachstein has a lot of snow already, but the weather is always a big risk.
Mario Käppeli just got some screws out of his hand that have been there for quit a while now. Mario will head to Dachstein, Austria for the Pleasure Jam as well and then go on a trip to Sweden for the FIS Big Air Contest that will be held in Stockholm during the Winter Jam. After his trip to the Mondial Du Snow, Remi Lamazouere is heading to Paris for a photoshoot with Rip Curl. Then, he might head to Hintertux, Austria for some park riding or maybe to Breckenridge to warm up for the season.
Jakob Wilhelmson is heading to Canada for a life style shoot November 10th-15th, and is crossing his fingers to get to ride some snow as well. After that he’ll be staying in Sweden for a bit to get to ride in his home resort.
Martin Sandberg is home in Sweden and getting ready for the first snow. It got cold already up north, but no snow so far, so he will wait and hope for the best.
Simon Schweiger just had the same fate as Mario, and got some screws taken out of his collarbone. He is back on his board though and enjoying the first snow in Austria’s mountains.
Enjoy the first snow flakes, and swing by the ThirtyTwo Snowboard boots site if you got a minute.
