From 2nd – 11th February 2007, the Biggest Ski & Snow Show in Europe – The Crans-Montana Champs Open by Rip Curl – will be taking place.
This year, the prestigious Swiss ski station of Crans-Montana will be hosting one the most anticipated events of the season. 50,000 people are expected to flock to Crans-Montana for the 10 day period for the Rip Curl Champs Open, which promises to be nothing less than very entertaining.
The schedule is packed full: the Freeski kicks off the proceedings, which moves from its usual spot at Les Diablerets but keeps its format: 12 of the biggest names fight for the right to qualify for the XGames. Moving on, our attention turns towards the skiers and the snowboarders in the backcountry. They have a new twist of freestyle on show, and it’s all hors-piste. Without a shadow of a doubt, the climax of the show is the Ticket to Ride circuit – the 5 star Snowboard Freestyle World Tour. The world’s 20 top riders battle it out on the ‘slope style’, built exclusively for this comp.
These three events demonstrate not only Rip Curl’s commitment and motivation to become one of the leading players in the Winter Sports market, but also their desire to provide the most naturally beautiful playgrounds for a maximum of people – spectators, beginners, enthusiastic riders and professionals!
