400 TTR points and a hefty prize purse will surely lure more foreign riders to attend the Game Session in the NBC Snowpark. The shrewd, worldwide unique format and the additions to the so called Snow-JahZee-Card pose a proper challenge for veterans as well as rookies who want to be crowned king of the gamblers on March 19th!
The unique jam session follows a similar principle as the famous dice game Yahtzee: each rider gets a card with 24 different tricks he’s supposed to tick off in the course of the session, preferably all together. They include straight air as well as switch straight air, spins from 180s to 360s, 540ies, 720ies up till 900s and all of them in all possible directions: FS, BS, swFS, swBS, and to top it off there’s the backflip and switch backflip.
In total 8 runs with 3 jumps will be counted. To stick and tick all possible tricks, a rider can’t have slammed once as for each bail you can not tick out a field on the card. There are different numbers of points per trick according to the level of difficulty – of course only if stomped and grabbed correctly. The winner is the rider with most points, but you can also win prizes for special combinations of tricks (so called “Combo-Prizes”). But the real gambling king will be the one who cracks the Red Bull Perfect – ticking off each and every trick on the card.
That was accomplished last year for the first time ever in the history of the event. And then two at once: Lukas Blaser and Christian “Hitsch” Haller! Although only Lukas earned the grabbed the prize as he was the first one to crack the score on this memorable day. Back then still without backflip, switch backflip and the 9ers though – This year it‘s a new challenge!
Number of participants for the SPY+ Snow-JahZee™ is limited to 35 riders, 10 of them invited. If you have the heart to gamble with the top riders, make sure you register on www.snow-jahzee.com asap. The fact that the who is who of the Swiss snowboard scene, among them Reto Kestenholz (triple winner so far), Markus Keller, David Bertschinger-Karg, I-Pod, Cyrill Eidam, Gian Luca Cavigelli, Roger Schuler, Diego Koch, Gian Simmen, Stephan Maurer, Nick Huber and many more, have been pilgrimaging to the SPY+ Snow-JahZee™ at the Hoch-Ybrig even without TTR points or big prize money before, is more than proof of how much the riders enjoy this unique format. When it comes to gambling, sometimes it’s not the best trick (or hand) that wins but the best tactic.
This means that the spectators doesn‘t have to follow “spin to win“ action all day though but get to witness a super exciting event with stylish and creative snowboarding. Of course the Natural Born Chillaz crew will take care of catering and chilled DJ tunes during the event! Just come by and check it out yourself, it‘s definitely worth it!
