The 14th South African National Ski and Snowboarding Championships were staged at Tiffindell Ski Resort in the Eastern Cape, Southern Drakensberg last weekend.
Ivan van Eck, Founding Director, said this week: “The atmosphere is always fantastic and the snow plentiful. Tiffindell has had considerably high natural snowfalls this year and weather models indicate more is to come. The resort has experienced the coldest start to winter in 10 years, and record snowfalls in 7 years. The unique micro-climate means that snow and cold weather are likely for the rest of the season until mid-September.”
Snow Sports SA ran various events, including the big air and boarder cross, to showcase South Africa’s top home-grown talent.
