Dan Wakeham (British Olympian) and Hamish McKnight (current GB Freestyle Team head coach) teamed up a while back to create One Snowboarding, freestyle snowboard camps for either Joe Public or British team aspirants.
Their Public Camps are fun social weeks where anyone can come and ride with the UK’s best riders. There is no pressure to do or try anything new if you don’t want, these are simply about having fun and enjoying snowboarding, although a bit of friendly advice will always help.
The Freestyle Development Camp is strictly invite only, available to riders that have been identified as the UKs most talented freestyle snowboarders who wish to push their riding to the next level. Implementing a unique programme written by Hamish, athletes will train in Halfpipe, Big Air and Slopestyle with a view to attain a place on the future British Freestyle Snowboard Team. The camp will include extensive use of video analysis, mental rehearsal techniques, goal setting, and biomechanics.
After much anticipation, dates have been announced for this year’s One Snowboarding public summer camps. Two weeks of summer freestyle await in Les Deux Alpes, France from the 3rd – 17th July 2010. Come and join us for either one or both weeks.
Les Deux Alpes has been chosen for it’s excellent range of on and off hill activities. On the glacier, there is a huge park and back-to-back pipes where riders will have the chance to ride alongside the UKs most talented riders, including the GB Freestyle Team. Afternoons in the town will consist of, football, volleyball, swimming, golf, mountain biking and tennis – along with some chilling in the jacuzzi and fun BBQ’s.The great summer vibe makes this a super fun holiday.
