All new for this season the TSA Shred Down series kicked off at SNO!zone Scotland on Saturday 28th November and got off to an epic start. The vibe was great, the park was perfectly shaped and the riders were throwing down huge tricks all night. With points up for grabs at each event of the four events all riders had their eye on the championship title, plus the sweetener of a brand new snowboard setup courtesy of The Snowboard Asylum.

Spot prize battles on each feature produced tech tricks and smooth stylish riding. David Lindsay and Danny McCormick went head to head on the flat down rail and the gas pipe before an epic contest on the kicker. Danny and Kevin were both throwing down huge rodeo 7s and toe side rodeos, however Danny went on to take the title of rider of the night after killing it on every feature. Matt McCormick took top spot for the groms and Emilia Vanni stepped it up for the girls with backside 3’s over the kicker. All three bagged themselves some sick prizes from Westbeach and TSA and clock up points towards deciding the overall TSA Shred Down champion at the end of the series.

The second Shred Down date had to be brought forward by a couple of weeks to make way for the Christmas rush of tobogganers. With some top swag now on offer from new sponsors Signal Snowboards, Salomon Snowboards, Bonfire, Westbeach, Burton, Forum, Airhole and Demon the event attracted a host of local rippers as well as some talent from further afield. The park featured a sick kicker and a few smaller hits were added allowing the groms to push their riding even further. Youngest in the field was Brandon Bow was mixing it up with nosegrabs, shiftys and frontside 180’s over the jump and nailing frontboards on the 10m flat bar. Grom of the night however went to Jacob Robertson after standing out during the whole jam and raising the bar since the first event. Emilia again stood out for the girls by nailing clean and stylish tricks all night long to take the top spot. After some tough judging decisions overall rider of the night was awarded to David Lindsay. Danny McCormick won best trick with a corked front 5 however Connor Carey, Onorio Mancini and Kevin Cowie were all in the fray. David impressed the judges the most with a barrage of tech rail tricks and stomped a huge back 3’s on the kicker.

Having taken a break to enjoy the festive season the TSA Shred Down returns on the 30th January 2010 before the final event and crowning of the champion with a new snowboard, bindings and boots form TSA on 27th February 2010.

See you there.
